MEDICATION: Topical estrogen cream

Vaginal estrogen cream

Vaginal estrogen cream is a topical treatment used to help with menopausal symptoms like vaginal dryness, itching, and discomfort during sex. When estrogen levels drop during menopause, the vaginal tissues can become thinner and less elastic, leading to these issues.

The cream is applied directly to the vaginal area, delivering a small amount of estrogen to help restore moisture and elasticity, making things more comfortable. Since it’s used locally, it has minimal effect on overall estrogen levels, which makes it a safe and effective option for treating these specific symptoms.

Topical estrogen cream  is not a form of hormone replacement therapy or menopause hormone therapy.  It can be used indefinitely.  It doesn't thicken the lining of the women, like the unopposed estrogen treatments of HRT.
