Your lab tests

Liver function tests
Includes ALT, AST, ALP, Bilirubin, and albumin to assess liver health.
Your result is raised
When Levels are High
High levels of ALT, AST, and ALP can indicate liver injury, inflammation, or bile duct obstruction. Common causes: Hepatitis, alcohol consumption, cirrhosis, and metabolic liver disease (fatty liver).
Your result is low
When Levels are Low
Low albumin can indicate liver dysfunction or chronic liver disease.

Understanding trends in the results
Persistent elevation of LFTs, especially ALT and AST, can indicate ongoing liver damage. Chronic liver disease can lead to cirrhosis and liver failure. High LFTs can be subtle in early metabolic liver disease or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and lifestyle factors such as obesity and poor diet contribute to these trends.
