Dr Sam chats about vaginal utrogestan.  It is the same capsules that can be used vaginally and orally.  Pretty cool!!

It is important that you have the support of your doctor or health practitioner because the use of vaginal utrogestan is not licensed.  When using it as part of hormone replacement therapy there is not evidence to confirm that the lining of the womb [endometrial lining] will not thicken in response to estrogen.  

With my patients I discuss the risks vs benefits, and develop a personalised monitoring plan.
